Project: Engineering, Procurement, and Construction of the development of the Tehran-Parand railway lines - part #1 (EPC)

The project is to construct the second line of the Tehran-Parand railway and increase the railway line capacity by up to 30 tons, and enhance the transportation speed by up to 160 km per hour. According to the contract, the subject of the project is the design and construction of the second line of the Tehran-Parand railway (substructure, bridge construction, and pavement) that starts from the Tehran station and ends at the new station of Parand.

 Project Objects

  • Construction of the second line of the Tehran-Parand railway (substructure, bridge construction, and pavement and conversion of all existing level intersections into non-level intersections) retaining all railway lines considering all safety points.
  • Pavement of the second line including the installation of rails and accessories, welding and installation of signs.
  • Increasing the capacity of trip
  • Increasing the speed of trip
  • Increasing the capacity of rail transportation in the country and consequently increasing the national transportation indicators
  • Existing stations modification in accordance with the development plan that is approved by the Stations Committee
  • Pavement operations to construct more stations in accordance with the future development plan approved by the technical committee along with the implementation of cargo and passenger platforms or underground corridors
  • Modification of existing arcs based on the new road design speed
  • Increasing the data transmission capacity using railway optical fiber in the country's communication corridor
  • Boring 60 boreholes and 30 test pits (+1000 m geotechnical boring) - conducting CBR test all along the railway path (20 km) - conducting destructive and non-destructive tests to evaluate the bed geotechnical properties
